Stroud has more weapons to work with in Houston's offense.
Marvin Harrison Jr. made his Texans debut in Week 6 after being traded from the Arizona Cardinals. And on Sunday, Tank Dell played in his first game for the Texans since 2024 after a series of serious leg injuries derailed his promising young career.
Both made an impact for Houston against the New York Giants.
With the Giants holding a 14-6 lead in the second quarter, Stroud looked to Dell over the middle to start a two-minute drill. Dell caught the pass near midfield and ran into Giants territory for a 43-yard gain to the 30-yard line.
The big gain was Dell's first catch of the game and his first since Dec. 21, 2024. It set up Harrison for his first big moment with his new team.
Six plays later, Stroud found Harrison in the back of the end zone on third-and-goal for his first touchdown since joining the Texans.
The Texans converted on an ensuing 2-point conversion and tied the game at 14-14 heading into halftime.
Harrison was a first-round pick by the Cardinals in 2024 after an All-America career at Ohio State catching passes from Stroud. He was pegged as a can't-miss prospect, but the Cardinals gave up on him in this third NFL season by dealing him to the Texans.
Houston's hoping that a reunion with Stroud can unlock the potential that largely went untapped in Arizona. Stroud, meanwhile, is seeking more of the same from his upgraded receiving corpshas he looks to lead the Texans from an 0-4 start into playoff contention.
